About the artist
Kate Piekutowski is a contemporary printmaker with an Australian/Polish heritage. Born in Hobart, Tasmania, Piekutowski finished her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2011 from the University of Tasmania and later completed her Masters of Fine Arts (June 2013). She has exhibited in over 50 solo and group exhibitions in Gallery Pejean, Colville Gallery, Inka Gallery, Moonah Art Centre, The Stable Gallery, Manyung Gallery, Goulburn Street Gallery, Sidespace Gallery, BSG Gallery, The Long Gallery as well as attending a number of artist fairs in Hong Kong, Singapore and New York.
As well as exhibiting internationally, Piekutowski has completed multiple artist residencies including in Portugal, Italy, Greece, Spain, New Zealand and India. Residencies ultimately fuel her practice, allowing her to work within a community and connect to place.
She currently works between Hobart and Brisbane teaching at various Community Art Centres, freelancing, working with a number of design markets and exhibiting around Australia and Internationally.
